mud, sweat & tears.. literally

It was my boyfriends 21st birthday on Sunday, we went out for a meal on Friday and I had to give him his present as it was too exciting to keep it any longer. Boys are horrible to shop for, especially when its a big birthday, I struggled to think of a present for ages then I was browsing through The NEC groups' website in hope of finding one of his favourite bands playing and found possibly the best gift ever. I got him and myself tickets to see Bear Grylls on his Mud, Sweat and Tears tour, exciting stuff! I struggled on how to give him his present as I wanted to give it him in a exciting way instead of just telling him. So I created two little 'Admit One' old fashioned cinema style tickets and a poster! Nifty eh? Now to find a hotel..

p.s he loved it! roll on the 23rd of March :D

D.I.Y: valentines present

Valentines Jar

you will need:

a treat (moshi monsters)

lots of love themed sweets

a jar (i used a plastic one as its for a child)

a cotton square

ribbon

also: pen and paper, too post a secret love note inside!

I have never been a fan of Valentines Day myself and just see it as a money making holiday. I mean if you love someone tell them all year round not just on February the 14th! But I have a 5 year old sister at home who is becoming aware of holidays now and as much as I am not fussed about Valentines day I want to make it special for her. So I set out to make her a present, I did think of getting her a rose but she wouldn't fully understand and appreciate that so a jar of sweets and Moshi Monsters will go down perfectly!

 I also made her this mini accordian book using a free MCP template, I just copy and pasted in the photographs and backgrounds. This is something that she can keep!

Will you be doing anything special this Valentines day, or just passing it by like me?

string vest - new look

I love love love this cardigan I got it from Laura Ashley at the end of last summer.

The quality of it is obvs amaze, and the detail is just to irresistible, the bunting carries on all around the back. I am a sucker for anything bunting related, so they must of saw me coming. I live near the village where the Laura Ashley business all began and I have lots of knowledge on it! So it is important retailer to me and it isn't just old lady clothes and prints that they sell! The home furnishings are beautiful. I think it retailed aroud £56 which was to much but I got in the end of Summer sale, plus my Nans amazing staff discount worked out perfectly!

This morning I have spent putting together a Valentines present which I will share with you tomorrow,

Had a very very very busy day, baked three cakes, went for a little food shop, removed the remainder of my nail polish and that was just before 10.30! I did procrastinate a little bit this morning as I recieved my mystery brief for the apprenticeship task, I baked cakes to put my mind to rest and went back to my college to get away from any distractions in my house. It was lovely to catch up with old faces and to see my tutors again. They were pleasantly surprised with the banana and peanut butter cake I gave them.

These pictures are from my outfit on Tuesday. Yes thats right, that is snow I have on my dress!

How awesome is that? Really hope it snows asap. This is the necklace I wore on my shopping trip the other day, it's very cute and rustic. I've had it for about two years now but you may be able to find one similar on eBay, it was originally from Republic.

are you hoping for snow like me, or would you rather it stayed far far away?

leggings - River Island

Yesterday I went shopping with Tarnia and Sara and little Tyler, it was nice to get out of town and go somwhere different for a couple of hours I didn't spend to much money I picked up this plain t-shirt which is the perfect length as its long enough to wear with leggings without the dreaded camel toe display.

I um'ed and ah'ed about these leggings, I tried them on in-store and thought they were pretty cool but had a dreading thought in the back of my mind of the leggings Mum used to put me in when I was younger and put them back. I slept on it and decided I really really liked them and my Mum kindly picked them up for me!
I've never had River Island leggings before they're quite thick and feel good quality, might have to invest in other colours and styles. Think I may purchase some little boat shoes or vans to wear with these leggings when the weather warms up. This is a brave purchase for me and completely out of my comfort zone as I've seen so many people wear leggings wrong. Public displays of  lady bits/camel toe makes me shudder.. I also don't own many printed items, a couple of dresses, but my wadrobe is mainly built up of block colours.
This is my first printed item of legwear/trousers/bottoms I can't wait to wear them outside.
There is also a very cute matching top to the leggings, not sure if I will be purchasing that don't want to look like I'm wearing boat pyjamas/boat onesie!

hello, late night post.. but i just wanted to share my totally awesome C.V i made this evening!

I had a very very exciting phone call off my college tutor regarding a full-time apprenticeship in web design, I have been so excited all day. I contacted the guy and he seemed super nice, going to check it out next week. so wish me luck guys!

I treated myself to this adorable owl hat in November time, I was quite surprised at the price of £10 as I find Next to be quite expensive. The pom pom ear detail is too cute to have been left behind.

 I love character hats and this cutesy one had to be added to my collection!

day off, 1 of 2: I spent the first have of the morning locked in my bedroom - mum, force of habit of keeping my little sister out - I after wandered into town to meet my Mum. I also made some jam thumb prints which are swiftly dissapearing out of the tin, and cooked me and my boyfriend a lovely meal.

I had a phone call yesterday to arrange delivery for my new bed frame YAY, it's a white metal bed frame that with my discount and vouchers only cost me £24 bargain!

I am currently in the process of decorating my bedroom so here is a little inspiration...

I already have a few bits and bobs for my bedroom, I keep finding cutesy accessories but I'm finding it terribly hard to find affordable furniture, may have a look around charity shop to see what I can renovate!

I'll post my newly decorated bedroom when its in a suitable state, I fear it might look like a Cath Kidston bomb may of gone off in here by the time I've decorated...
